Resources
- 28 units to graduate
- 20 units to be a senior with a schedule that qualifies for graduation
- 12 units to be classified as a junior
- 6 units to be classified as a sophomore
Local Requirements (in addition to State requirements)
- English: 1 unit of English Composition*
- Electives: 6 units Additionally, Franklin County has specified that the units for graduation will consistently add up to four units less than a student’s maximum potential. Under the block schedule, a student must earn 28 credits of 32 potential credits.
Future-Ready Core Requirements: For Students Entering 9th Grade in 2012-13 and Later
- English: 4 credits -- English I, II, III and IV.
- Math: 4 credits -- Math I, II, III and a math beyond Math III. (Students who use a math substitution option for graduation still must complete Math I and II as well as two other approved courses for substitution.)
- Science: 3 credits -- Biology, a physical science (Chemistry, Physics or Physical Science) and Earth Science.
- Social Studies: 4 credits -- Civics and Economics, World History, and American History I: Founding Principles and American History II OR AP US History. A student who takes AP US History instead of taking US History I and US History II must also take an additional social studies course in order to meet the four credits requirement.
- Health and Physical Education: 1 credit
- Electives: 6 Credits required 2 Elective credits of any combination from either: – Career and Technical Education (CTE) – Arts Education – Second Languages 4 Elective credits strongly recommended (four course concentration) from one of the following: – Career and Technical Education (CTE) – JROTC – Arts Education (e.g. dance, music, theater arts, visual arts) – Any other subject area (e.g. mathematics, science, social studies, English)

- English: 4 Credits - OCS English I, II, III and IV.
- Math: 3 Credits - Introduction to Math, Financial Management, and OCS Math I
- Science: 2 credits - OCS Biology and OCS Applied Science
- Social Studies - OCS American History I and OCS American History II
- Occupational Preparation: 6 Credits - Occupational Preparation 1, 2, 3, and 4. Also, completion of 300 hours of school-based training, 240 hours of community-based training, and 360 hours of paid employment.
- Career Technical Education: 4 Credits
- Recommended: at least one credit in an arts discipline and/or requirement by local decision
