The following local scholarships are available only for current Bunn High School Students.
**PLEASE READ ALL DIRECTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR EACH SCHOLARSHIP CAREFULLY (INCLUDING ANY ESSAYS OR EXTRA MATERIALS)! IF THE SCHOLARSHIP REQUIRES A RECOMMENDATION, PLEASE GIVE 1-2 WEEKS NOTICE TO THE RECOMMENDER. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. MRS. HAMMACK WILL INCLUDE OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS TO COMPLETED SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS.**

Bob "Pa" Wheless Scholarship
This scholarship is open to any senior who is planning to pursue a career in the field of Agriculture or Education. This scholarship is in memory of Bob Wheless who was an Ag teacher at BHS for many years.

Melissa Reed Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2020 by the family and friends of Melissa Reed, the Melissa Reed Memorial Scholarship is awarded each year to a graduate of Bunn High School in Bunn, NC and a graduate of Franklin Academy, in Wake Forest, NC. Scholarship recipients are awarded for their outstanding leadership and service, persistence in the face of adversity, exemplary character, and dedication to learning. The Scholarship is a one time award of $2500 paid to the graduate for use for tuition, fees, books, or educational expenses at an accredited two or four year institution.

Bunn High School Band Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to two Bunn High School seniors who have been involved in the Bunn High School band program. The Bunn Band Boosters are proud to offer two $250.00 scholarships based on musical accomplishment, school, and community involvement, academic record and future educational goals. The Bunn Band Boosters have established the following criteria in authorizing this scholarship program:
1. Applicant must be a graduating senior from Bunn High School.
2. Applicant must have participated in the Bunn High School band program for 8 semesters.
3. Applicant must plan to enroll in an accredited college or University.
4. Applicant must plan to participate in a university recognized band program.

Bunn High School Student Council Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to two Bunn High School seniors who have been an active member of the student body and shown enthusiastic school spirit. (One student council member and one non-member will be selected)

Doris Hunt Memorial Scholarship
Doris Horton Hunt was a life-long resident of Franklin County. Upon graduating from Bunn High School, Mrs. Hunt became an active participant in church, community, and educational activities. She served as a 3rd Grade Teaching Assistant at Bunn Elementary School for twenty-two and one-half years, retiring in 2003. This scholarship is being established in her loving memory in order to promote her strong belief that hard work, strong moral character, and an education are the keys to a better way of life. The scholarship will be awarded to a senior at Bunn High School for outstanding academic achievement and service to the community.

Franklin County Training School Riverside Union High School Alumni Association Scholarship
This alumni association is offering an academic scholarship to a deserving senior. Requirements include a 3.0 GPA and acceptance into any higher education program. Priority will be given to descendants of former students who attended FCTS/Riverside anytime form its inception in 1928 to the closing in 1968.
Sean Watts Memorial Scholarship
Sean B. Watts, whom the scholarship honors, graduated from Bunn High in 1994. Sean was active in football, golf, Spanish Club, Beta Club and Quiz Bowl. He then attended NCSU and pursued a degree in Agricultural Business Management to obtain a job with John Deere Corporation upon graduation in 1999. He was employed there and also working toward his MBA at the University of Iowa at the time of his death in 2010. Sean was proud to be a graduate of Bunn High and NCSU and would share this pride in his friendly, outgoing manner as he traveled both domestically and internationally. The purpose of the Sean B. Watts Memorial Scholarship is to aid young people graduating from Bunn High School who plan to attend North Carolina State University. This award will be based on the applicant’s financial need, academic achievement, and involvement in extracurricular activities.

Bunn High School Athletic Booster Scholarship
Requirements: Former athlete, (player, manager, or scorekeeper), in any sport at Bunn High School; Preferably parent/guardian is (was) a member of the Bunn High School Athletic Boosters; Participated in any Athletic Booster Club activity; Unweighted GPA of 2.0 or higher; 1 Letter of recommendation from coach is required.
