Do I have to pay this money back?
- It depends on what your financial aid package looks like.
- Most financial aid packages are made up of federal grants, work-study, and sometimes loans.
- Loans do have to be repaid, but not until the student is out of college.
- Grants do not have to be paid back, this is free money.
- Work-study does not have to be paid back, but students must get an on-campus job in order to obtain this money.
How do I apply?
- Students will have to create an account and PIN.
- FAFSA requires you to submit your parent's most recent tax information. Your information is safe, this is mainly to find out about your income and assets in order to calculate an Expected Family Contribution (EFC).
- Make sure to send it to the schools you applied to. If you do not send it to a school and they accept you, you will not be offered a financial aid package.
